Steph & David's Wedding

I shot some of Steph & David's wedding.  I mainly photographed the girls getting ready and the reception.  I wish I could have gotten more images, but I was the Maid of Honor, so that made it a bit tricky!  It was a blast though! I can't wait until I get to shoot a wedding on my own.  It does seem a bit daunting though.

Here is the invite that I made again.  Though, this time it has the actual information on it, since the date has now passed.

I need to take pictures of the finished product, but I haven't gotten to it yet! I know, I'm lazy!

Preparation for the wedding:

Carrie one of the bridesmaid's doing her makeup. I think she is the only one I got a picture of this.  Since I was getting my hair done or doing my own makeup.

HAIR!  We had a lot of fun hanging out and getting our hair done.

Amber, another bridesmaid.  I think she was getting annoyed at me taking pictures.  I know the hairdresser got pissed off at me, but the day isn't about the hairdresser.  It's about the bride and preserving her memories.

Ambers hair from the back.

Cheryl, the now mother-in-law and the bride, Steph

Here they are again!  It looks like Cheryl is going to cry.  This is an amazing women!  I want to adopt her as my second mother!

In-progress of the brides hair.

The back view of it finished!

Isn't she pretty?

Time for it to get hair sprayed, hence the face mask.

I caught this moment, I think its beautiful!

Hair and make up are done, time to celebrate! The hair dresser bought a bottle of wine and give us each a glass. This is most of the party, we are missing one bridesmaid. Left to Right: Kendra, Amber, Me (MOH), Steph (Bride), Linda (mother of the bride), Amanda (sort of hidden) and Carrie.

*Note: I didn't really get any pictures of us getting dressed or the wedding, since I was busy doing my MOH duties and you know I was in the wedding. *

Reception:

Kendra and Adam.  This couple is too cute! I hope they stay married until they are old and grey.

The bride taking to her mother-in-law and father.

Kendra and Ashley.  These two girls are a lot of fun!

Steph and David cutting the cake.

And getting a slice.  I should have gotten more photos of David and Steph together, but I guess I got distracted!  At least the photographer, they hired got plenty.

This is my family! Left to right: Kevin, Amanda, Diane, me and Andrew.

Getting a picture with her girls from college.

Here is the other bridesmaid!  I found you Jenna!  Jenna is practically Steph's sister and on the other side is one of the groomsmen and Steph's brother, Chris.

The mother and father of the bride.  Aunt Linda was hiding her face on me! Not nice, Aunt Lin!

One of Steph's aunt, Brenda and uncle, Dennis.  They live in New York, NO, not the city, so we do not get to see them much anymore.

My parents, and Steph's Aunt Diane and Uncle Kevin.

Cheryl and Mr. Bill, the grooms mother and step-father dancing.  They are so cute!

Busy talking to someone...

The bride and her grandparents, Jane and Jim.  They were the last couple of the dance floor, since the DJ was calling couple off by the years they were (are?) married.  Grammy and Pappy have been married for 57 YEARS!  So they got to give some advice to the new happy couple.

I hope you enjoyed my pictures.  If you get a chance, check out my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgeMariePhotography

Hannah

This weekend I did a fun photo shoot with Hannah Miller.  We traveled to several different locations near my house.  Thankful Hannah was a trooper and wore summer clothing with the 50 degree weather.

Thursday night I contacted Hannah and told her to bring as many outfits as she wanted.  Little did I know that she would bring a duffle bag full of clothing and another bag full of shoes!  I think she brought more clothing than I own (and that's saying something considering I'm a teacher)!  It took me a little to narrow down her clothing to three or four outfits, then I did her makeup and we went out to take pictures!

Location 1: A small field

Isn't she pretty?

Hannah was a joy to photograph.  She had so many different poses and did not need much directing at all.

Location 2:  Woods

I am in love with this picture!

I would absolutely steal this shoes from Hannah if she wouldn't notice!  Maybe I should have tried! ;)

Location 3: The front apartment of my house

Obviously no one lives in that part anymore....its just a little worn down...  I've always wanted to do a photo shoot in the front apartment.  I am interested in the contrast between the rough, aged, distressed building compared to a young, current model.

I told Hannah to stand between the wall and the beam and she automatically did this!  Isn't she great?

Close up!

Okay, we were fooling around here! She was excited by being able to use the old grimy paper towels as a prop.

You work that cabinet!

Another prop Miss Hannah found and started using!

So dramatic!

Should I be worried Hannah?

Location 4: The Quarry

I love this place! It is gorgeous.  Its an old abandoned quarry.  It isn't the best place to be walking around in heels.  Thankfully I knew that and made Hannah wear sneakers in our little hike to the bottom of the quarry.  I do not want my model to hurt herself! I love the color of the water in this pond, although its probably not a good thing (chemicals and what not?)  There used to be a beaver dam there.  I didn't see them there when I was taking photographs though.

This beautiful driftwood was just sitting there.  It was like magic, calling our names.  Of course, Miss Hannah heeded it!

This is my favorite picture of the day!

Just look at the variety of her poses! And I'm sure she was cold, it was in the 50's. She said she gets colder during track practice at times.

This is another one of my favorites!

Close ups again!

Location 5: On one of the levels of the quarry

I love her pose here.  She was so relaxed (a good thing no snakes were out and about at this point)!

I hope Hannah had as much fun as I did on our little day excursion.  We got some awesome photographs from the day!
